The Prince Edward Theatre was established in 1930 by Edward A along with an interior designer called Marc-Henri Levy and Gaston Laverdet. Named on Prince Edward, it opened with a phenomenal performance of the melodious Rio Rita. Other important events in its inauguration time contained the London debut of celebrated nightclub artiste Josephine Baker who acted her popular 'Bananas Dance'.
