Pierluigi Struzzo, MD, PhD candidate at the University of Trieste, Life Sciences Department, lives and works as a General Practitioner in Udine, Italy. Specialist in Respiratory Diseases and Occupational Medicine, he always dedicated his interests in implementing health promotion strategies within local communities and primary care settings. Since 1996, he actively participates in WHO collaborative studies and EU funded projects to develop and implement Brief Intervention Clinical Guidelines for risky drinking and unhealthy lifestyles. He is the responsible for the Research and Innovation Area of the post-graduate school for general practitioners of the Region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. As a Principal Investigator, he actually runs a National Health Research project on risky drinking and web-site and one on alcohol dependence in primary care. He is authors of more than fifty scientific publications (articles and chapters in books) in health promotion and risky drinking research.
