I am a social worker with 32 years in practice, and a clinical professor at the University of South Carolina in the School of Social Work. I have worked as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist with children, families and couples, and also train and supervise other professionals.  My passion in research, training and clinical intervention is addressing the psychosocial needs of orphaned and vulnerable children.  To that end I train caregivers of orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs) in Africa and have launched an NGO to further that work in Africa.
