Paras Kaul
I am Paras Kaul, alias "That Brain Wave Chick,” a neural multimedia artist, researcher, and music composer. I utilize a brainwave interface to the computer to create brainwave multimedia performances that have been performed at the Kennedy Center—Millennium Stage, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in DC, Walker Art Center, the DC Warehouse Next Door, the Dana Centre Museum of Science in London, Goldsmith's College in the UK, California State University, Mississippi State University, George Mason University, and also for SIGGRAPH conferences (Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) at convention centers in Los Angeles, Boston, Orlando, San Diego, and San Jose.
I have worked at digital graphic/animation companies in New York and in Hollywood at Paramount Studios Additionally, I have been invited to speak in Australia, France, and the UK. More recently, I was a neurological consultant for an independent film produced in Hollywood. I worked on location with the actors for a week training them to control their brainwaves and to understand the basics of EEG analysis of brainwave activity. I also appear briefly as a researcher in the film, Caller ID, currently being shown in film festivals in the US.
