I'm a doctoral candidate in the Dept. of Near Eastern Studies at the Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My dissertation is on manuscripts of works attributed to the 13th-c. sufi and writer on the occult science of letters ('ilm al-huruf), Ahmad al-Buni. My areas of interest are postclassical Islamic intelllectual history, sufi studies, manuscript studies, and Mediterranean studies, along with a bunch of materiality theory and other such stuff.
