I'm working on a book, "Storming the Gates of Our Future: Reclaiming Our Power to Save the World", and with others, to argue for and help promote the capacities we need to create a livable future, i.e. one where we survive as a species, save what can still be saved of the planet, and organize our society to bring out the best in us. We consider: Is such a world even possible? How might we get there from here? What's working already? Or most promising? What role do existing professions and institutions play? In particular, where does higher education fit in?  How can we change the rules we live by to make the world we want to live in? How do we expand these capacities in ourselves? How do we reclaim our power, individually and collectively, to do these things?
