Michael D Dwyer
Assistant Professor of Media and Communication at Arcadia University. My research centers on the issue of nostalgia in popular media, considering how the circulation and citation of film, pop music, television, and other media texts creates cultural memory, and creates narratives of "pop history." My dissertation, Back to the Fifties: Pop Nostalgia in the Reagan Era, pursues this interest in the films of the 1980s that sought to recapture, recast, re-enact or re-imagine the 1950s.
