THE GREAT SNOW GOOSE
I am an Army brat who was born August 21, 1947 in Newport News, Virginia. I grew up for the most part in a small railroad village in southeastern Illinois and love the region of the lower Wabash River valley. After high school, I volunteered for the U.S. Navy and served from 1965 to 1969; later earning a B.A. in History plus 12 hours of graduate study from Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois at Springfield). I am not a scholar or a professional, but I do have a keen interest in books and reading (history, religion, and literature), local history, genealogy, and heritage gardening and farming. -Mike Fryman
