The purpose of our research is to understand online and offline information flows of the Occupy Wall Street movement and its relationship to how that information moves in geographic space. Thus, our working research questions are: how is information that is publicly available (eg. does not require a login) about the Occupy Wall Street movement spreading within and between social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Meetup.com, YouTube and blogs) and mainstream media? What is the relationship between online and offline (geographic) information flows?
