Getting started with this group

Hello group members! I hope you're enjoying playing around with zotero. I've learned a few things about groups that weren't immediately obvious, so I'll pass them on here. -As a group member you have a folder in your Zotero pane for this group that is separate from your personal "My Library" folder. As you grab citations from library catalogs, they will automatically be stored in the folder that is currently highlighted. You can, however, drag entries into other folders. I have found it easiest to store all my citations in "My Library", and then drag the relevant entries into the Apuleius group bibliography. That way I don't accidentally add extraneous citations (on Macrobius, Lexicography, Augural Law, whatever) by forgetting to click between folders as I change tasks. -I recommend adjusting your settings so that you do not automatically store PDFs on zotero.org- there is a limited amount of free storage space for the group and for each individual account. Any entry grabbed from JSTOR contain a stable JSTOR URL, so you can easily download your own copy of an article there. If you would like to share PDFs post them to the wiki, which has more storage space - Please add any bibliography you find relating to Apuleius, the Second Sophistic, and Latin literary culture of the 2nd c. CE. - You can also edit the information in existing items in the group bibliography. - I use the "Abstract" field to annotate the item- how useful or relevant something is, what approach does it take, where I got the citation, how much I've read, where I have a paper copy stored. Feel free to annotate the group bibliography in a similar way. Please feel free to continue the discussion with comments or questions on using Zotero!

That block of text is not very helpful, and formatting is rather limited here.  So I copied the same tips to a page on the wiki:

If you have comments or questions about zotero or zotero groups, you can reply to this thread OR post a comment on the wiki.
