Hi, all, We're now a robust group of three (soon to be four, with Gloria's sign on). News from Zotero, They are working on a version that will run independently of Firefox, which means it will work on net books, Ipads, etc. Mary Anne, this could be more flexible for someone like Brian doing field research. I'll let you know when there's a working version to try. Re: Reading notes, I'm close to having all my notes from the grant proposal writing phase of King project online in this library. Gary

Hi, again,

I plan to send out invitations to all the national advisory committee members for the project next Wednesday, so maybe our group will grow a bit in the coming week.

Hi, again,

I've added three books to the list since last month: Honkers and Shouters: The Golden Years of Rhythm and Blues by Shaw (Excellent souce of detailed info. on King artists); They Say in Harlan County by Portelli (Good background on Appalachia and the migration to Cincinnati, Detroit); and Bob Dylan in America by Wilentz (a famous historian's biography of a popular musician; good detail on blues influences on popular music, esp. Blind Willie McTell from Atlanta)

Hi, all,

Happy New Year!  Please welcome Jackson1 to the group. Perhaps you'd like to tell us a bit about your interest in King Records.
