TEL in South Sudan’s Energy Market

Trinity has become an established player in ensuring the energy security of  South Sudan. The Company works closely with the Government owned Nile  Petroleum Company (NILEPET). Currently, TEL supplies about 6,000 m3 of diesel  to NILEPET on a monthly basis, worth USD 6 Million. This implies a market  share in South Sudan of approximately 40%. The Company also supplies 2,000 m3  of petrol on a monthly basis to NILEPET, and holds 45% of the market  share in South Sudan. The Company also operates storage depots in South Sudan  where fuel is stored and distributed in the market. TEL is also involved in  distribution of LPG Gas for the domestic market.

Refinery  Project

Looking forward, TEL’s sister company, A&A Oil and Gas, has been given a  license by the Government of South Sudan to set up a 50,000 barrels per day  (BPD) Oil Refinery in Pagak, Upper Nile State, close to the Ethiopian border.  Currently A&A has engaged

Foster Wheeler, a reputable oil and gas consulting firm, to undertake feasibility  study for the project. The proposed refinery and associated infrastructure,  such as the 300 km oil pipeline that shall run from Pauloch to Pagak, is  expected to be ready by 2015. Once complete, this project shall provide  energy security for not only South Sudan but also the entire East Africa  region. This will be the first grass roots refinery of its kind in South  Sudan. The total cost for this project, including plant & machinery,  physical infrastructure, civil works, power plant (50 MW) , pipeline and  associated infrastructure is expected to cost USD 2. 5 Billion.
