Do not upload copyrighted material

This seems so obvious that I did not thought it necessary to mention here, but now I see that there are things listed that look like they would still be in copyright, like the item "Encyclopedia of Buddhism.pdf", which has no other information except the title. Please be careful to make full bibliographical entries and do not copy attachments (for the time being) Christian

Christian: Thank you so much for noticing this. We don't want to be unwitting distributors of our colleagues books under copyright. Nothing could be more damaging to the reputation of this kind of project! -- Chuck

OK, I was just rsyncing my computer to another machine, and noticed a few other book PDFs in the Zotero directory. We're definitely going to get ourselves in copyright trouble, if not legally , simply through creating a bad reputation. I've deleted the PDF for the Encyclopedia of Buddhism. If you know that you've uploaded any other PDFs, please delete them, unless you are absolutely sure that they are not under copyright. --- Chuck

Last night, before going to be, I deleted 6 JSTOR PDFs, but this morning they were there again. Perhaps they are pulled in by links to the entries. I will try again now.

Before deleting the JSTOR entries, I should have checked as to whether the PDFs were actually on our site, or if they were just appearing as links. If we are merely linking into JSTOR, I would assume that should not be a problem. If someone has the chance to check this, please let us know. -- Chuck
