Melanie Schmidt is part of the End-of-Life Care Research Group at the Free University of Brussels. She's working on the INTEGRATE project, which aims to develop a comprehensive model of palliative care integration. Her research is on the roles and experiences of family caregivers. Through mixed-methods studies she aims to understand which aspects of palliative care family caregivers take upon themselves, how they interact with professional caregivers, which problems they face as a caregiver, etc.
