Current

Founder of "Martin's Project," an anti-poverty project in Quito.  Currently putting together an animation studio to teach disadvantaged children and youths drawing and animation skills and to produce shorts, commercials and longer works in stop-motion and tradigital hand-drawn animation styles.



Graduate student in Creativity Studies at the Union Institute and University.

2010

Storyboard artist for independent movie production pilot. Not Always Us Productions. Create storyboards from script and Director of Photography’s input.  Design camera angles, mood of scene, environments.  Use industry-standard written style for dialogue, action, etc. Work produced with Toon Boom Storyboard software.  Project done via Skype, email and internet connection. 

2003 – 2008

Editor and Publisher
, “Old Masters’ Painting Techniques Newsletter,” an e-zine on the techniques of masters who worked between the 15th and 20th centuries. Responsible for programming all aspects of website (HTML and DreamWeaver), using PhotoShop and other image-manipulation programs (Creative Suite 2) for images. Perform all marketing and strategic tasks for the newsletter. Write articles for publication using MicroSoft Word, track information on subscribers using programs I developed in Excel, MS Office, etc. and produce training videos (in Flash video format) for streaming video download through the magazine.
 

1994 – 1996

Studied landscape painting with acclaimed professional artist Jerral Derryberry in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Exhibiting member of the Santa Fe Society of Artists.
 

1991 – 1993

Programmer/Analyst 2 for the State of New Mexico. Performed wide variety of support and programming services for the departments of Health, Game and Fish and Rehabilitation.the departments of: Hospital Certification, Emergency Medicine, AIDS Education, and others.  Responsible as second-in-command for the Data General Minicomputer/Microcomputer network of the Department of Game and Fish (Law Enforcement), including minicomputer systems-level programming, data backup and storage, technical support, printing of hunting licenses, installation of minicomputer Local Area Networks, data telecommunications for the department’s Wide Area Minicomputer Network.For the Department of Rehabilitation I analysed and designed a reporting database on DEC VAX minicomputers using the 3rd generation language “PowerHouse” database software. Installed, trained and supported computers in field offices around the state. Provided internal support of the program for computer purchases, repairs, programming and training on all aspects of computer hardware and software use.  Provided systems analysis, design and systems programming as well as training for Wide Area Networks for users throughout the state.

Information Services Manager, Western States Arts Foundation, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Supported office staff members in regional arts foundation. Wrote database applications, supported 12 member State Arts Agencies with technical assistance including systems analysis, programming, training and telephone support.  Oversaw the rewriting of computer program for tracking arts projects for members. Implemented one of the first Bulletin Board Systems for arts organizations in the world. Reduced division expenditures by 50% from previous years while increasing level of support. Designed computer network for Foundation.  Continued as consultant after I left the position.  

Taught art classes at the Pecos Elementary School (fifth-year students) as an adjunct to Ms. Veronica Bowles’s class.  

1984-1985

Phone Support Technician, Wyse Technology Corporate Headquarters, Sunnyvale, California (Silicon Valley).  Provided telephone support to Wyse customers worldwide on hardware and software. Programmed EPROMs for custom terminal applications. Tested and wrote up results forever 500 software programs for compatibility with the Wyse PC.
   

1983 – 1984

International Technical Support Specialist, ComputerLand Corporate International Headquarters, Peralta Oaks, California (Silicon Valley). Supported over 100 staff members in the International Division of ComputerLand Corporate Headquarters, trained staff on the use of programs, repaired and maintained machines, programmed database and spreadsheet applications. Researched and compiled all technical information and completed forms for US Government permission to export microcomputers from 12 manufacturers to the People’s Republic of China.

Repaired all types of microcomputer equipment, printers, etc., and configured custom cables for interconnecting all types of microcomputers.
