Malcolm Gin
I'm a lay-scientist. I grew up in a scientific (Physical Chemistry, Biology, Medicine) family, did internships at the Laboratory of Chemical Biodynamics (UCB/LBL), and did 2 years of a 3-year PhD-Track fellowship in Physical Chemistry at GW in DC.
In lay-science life I do both social justice activism and science-activisim, primarily focused on medical science related to obesity, cholesterol, CVD, and CHD, but also Intersex conditions, and statistical presentation/interpretation (and the idea that we may be taking as significant what is truly still random noise, especially in biosciences and in medical protocols based on moder epidemiologies). I'm also one of those people who believes that publicly funded research should result in publicly accessble full text articles. In social justice, I specialize in antiracism and gender activism but also dabble in ableism and other minority dynamics.
Also note that because of Zotero storage, I am not syncing attachments or snapshots. If a reference/citation has been moved or the URL does not work, drop me a note (at malcolm.gin@gmail.com) and I can forward you the snapshot or attachment.
