For more than twenty years, Kihwang Lee has been involved in a number of research and commercial projects dealing with large-scale language data for various applications including lexicography, corpus-based linguistic study, digital humanities, and social media analytics.

Holding a PhD in informatics majoring data-intensive computational linguistics, Kihwang worked as a senior researcher, and later research professor in Institute of Language and Information Studies, Yonsei University. Now, as a technical director, he is leading research on social media and related topics, and overseeing development and operation of social big data mining system at Daumsoft, Inc., specialized in trend spotting and insight finding through text mining and sentiment analysis utilizing big data processing technologies.
