Suzanne Lorimer
Undertaking research on my great-grandfather, William Lorimer (1861-1934), British immigrant, political boss of Chicago, seven-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senator from Illinois (1909-1912) until his expulsion for vote fraud surrounding his election to that office by the Illinois legislature. During his career he championed the construction of the Illinois Waterway, founded two banks, and engaged in the lumber trade in Wisconsin and Louisiana.
