Hi there! I'm Mike. I worked/wonked for 24 years directly across the street from the U.S. Capitol at the Congressional Research Service (CRS), a major component of the Library of Congress. There, I fielded questions from Members and congressional staffers and have a tool box of political and economics nuts & bolts that I use to keep tabs on our government. Now, freed from CRS's sensible requirement for non-partisanship, I can do what I've been itching to do since, well, my first day at CRS: write from a partisan viewpoint that leans decidedly l.e.f.t.
