I am a graduate student of history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My research interests include:

• generally: the social and cultural history of the United States; the 19th century; questions of gender, sexuality, race, and class; new media and digital history
• more specifically: the Early American and Antebellum South, singleness and single women, female education and entrepreneurship, Victorian hairwork and fancywork
