Innovative visionary young social scientist and activist with drive and initiative, currently doing PhD in Asian Studies at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Extensive firsthand experience in politics and societies in Burma and other Southeast Asian countries.             Capacitating Civil Society Initiatives

Supported by the Burma Fund and Burma UN Service Office,

National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma

-Produced a concept paper “which the leaders of the Burmese democracy movement can present as its policy on how the international community can better capacitate the civil society in Burma, and can be used to urge friendly governments to invest funds into supporting small scale civil society initiatives in Burma which have thus far been overlooked by donor institutions and countries.”

Research Project for “Panna Lawka Online Education Web Portal”

Supported by  Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung

            - Produced “Concept Paper for Online Education Project for Burma”.

- Developed a design for the planned online education portal, recruited committed academics for content management and team members for technical support, and in its last stage adopted a sustainable project proposal, inclusive of financial plan and time table suitable for fundraising to create space for step by step implementation.

Capacity Assessment of local NGOs in Burma

Supported by Young Scholar Forum and Vahu Development Institute

-Conducted a survey research study on the organizational capacity of local (Burmese) Non-Governmental Organizations, non-profit organizations, community-based organizations and faith-based organizations in Burma by developing a survey questionnaire, conducting surveys to have minimum 100 respondents from the above-mentioned organizations, enhanced the survey findings with focus group meetings and key informant interviews, and wrote analysis and interpretation of surveys.

Myanmar Knowledge Society Educational Publication Project

Supported by Open Society Institute (OSI)

-As a technical consultant, wrote the organization descriptions and concept paper of Myanmar Knowledge Society and prepared the project proposal to be submitted to Open Society Institute: Awarded the grant on 22nd January, 2009.

Citizen Journalist Trainings for Burmese Migrant Workers/Refugees in Malaysia

-Organized by Malaysiakini and supported by the United States, State Department

-Responsible for adapting preexisting syllabus to meet requirements for Burmese community, providing relevant training materials and case studies in Burmese language, identifying and networking with the potential resource persons, conducting initial networking meetings and pilot training, interpretations between participants and organizers/trainers, initiating the process to host Burmese language website under Malaysiakini to publish news from Burmese citizen journalists.

Internet/Information Security Training and Advisory for National League for Democracy

-Organized and supported by Southeast Asian Centre for e-Media (SEACeM)

-Responsible for communicating and coordinating events

Research Project on “Civil Society and Workers: The Influence of CSOs in Securing Worker’s Right in Malaysia” for Middlesex University Business School

-Responsible for interviewing, transcribing, and writing relevant NGOs, CSOs, Trade Unions, Activists, Politicians, and Member of Parliaments.
