Kenneth Andrew Friedman
Kenneth Andrew Friedman is a Houston, Texas native citizen, born November 13, 1976. Today he serves as the President of Baseball Operations of the Los Angeles Dodgers, but prior to that he has held various positions in the sport management business, with the most prominent one being general manager for the Tampa Bay Rays. During his management position for the Rays, in 2008 Kenneth Andrew Friedman was named Executive of the Year by Sporting News.
He was born into a Jewish family and attended high school at Episcopal High School in Houston. Next he went on to study management at Tulane University, earning his B.S. degree from Tulane's Freeman School of Business. Following in the footsteps of his father, who also attended Tulane University, Kenneth Andrew Friedman as well played for the school’s baseball team.
After finishing his education, Kenneth Andrew Friedman began his professional career as an analyst with Bear Stearns, where he stayed for almost four years. In 2002 he made a career move and started working as an associate at the private equity firm MidMark Capital, where he served until 2004. During these years he meet the new owner of the Tampa Bay Rays, and after their exchange of views and ideas, they reached a decision to work together. Later on this proved to be a successful move, because Friedman was able to rebuild the team, and in 2008 while he was acting as Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager, for the first time in franchise history, the Rays made the postseason and even made it all the way to the World Series.
