            Assisted in trapping insects in vineyards and native habitat areas. Identified insects on traps and grape leaves. Entered and analyzed data. Surveyed growers and consumers.

 

Graduate Research Assistant                                               2009 – 2011

Honey Bee Research and Extension Lab, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL

Assisted in honey bee hive maintenance and diet projects. Assisted in field sampling in pollination and trap nesting studies. Assisted in logistics, field work and data entry and analysis of Operation Pollinator. Identified and curated native bee collection.

USDA, CMAVE, Mosquito and Fly Unit, Gainesville, FL  

Assisted in making mosquito cages for insecticide testing. Independent research into the effect of hurricanes, temperature and precipitation on mosquito populations.

Prepared diet and upkept tobacco hornworm colony. Cared for cockroach colonies. Cared for over twenty assorted tarantulas and scorpions.
