Juan Yunda
Juan has an undergraduate degree in architecture and a joint master's degree in urban studies from Bauhaus-Weimar University and Tongji University in Shanghai. During his stay in China, he conducted his thesis research on the subject of urban redevelopment forms and its social impacts in the city of Xiamen. While in Europe, he participated in research about airport regions and urban refurbishment. He worked on urban design and architecture projects in Spain, Bulgaria and Germany for GMP Architects in Berlin. After his return to Colombia, he has been conducting research and teaching architecture and urban design at Piloto University in Bogota. In addition to consulting for both public and private entities on transportation, affordable housing and planning. He has been awarded distinctions for his academic work by the Colombian Ministry of Education, Colombian Science and Technology Department, the Colombian Architects Society, the Institute for European Urban Studies and the Fulbright Commission. Juan's research interests include social-spatial segregation and its implications for urban form, and the future of informal settlements in Latin American cities and regions
