Joshua Ben-Arie
Emigrated in 1990 from South Africa to Canada. BSc. in biology from Guelph Univ. ('96) and a masters in GIS from Univ. of Calgary ('07). I use GIS and Remote Sensing for conservation management and ecological research. I am also interested in the whole gamut that goes along with conservation; i.e., political, social, cultural and economic issues and particularly the connection between people and their environment. Previously based at EPOMEX (an ecological research centre) in Campeche, Mexico and before that in the oil and gas pipeline industry in Calgary.
