If empathy and all loving kindness originate in a transcendent loving and wise God, then we desire his presence for fighting societal evils. Yet with all the awful things going on, we might wonder why God is absent from our world. After all appears to have been around in the past him if we are to believe sacred texts. Not the invented punitive god of condemnation and punishment but instead the compassionate God of love and wisdom, as revealed in Jesus Christ of Nazareth's life span.
