I am a Mediterranean archaeologist specializing in the archaeology of first millennium BC Italy and the architecture and urbanism of Italic cultures.  My research interests encompass the whole of ancient Italy and the Roman Empire, but in particular I am pursuing issues related both to regionalism and regional interaction and the role played by these phenomena in the fashioning of Italy during the time of the Roman Republic.
