Joshua D. Bodyfelt

Born and raised in the wild deserts of Wyoming, J.D. Bodyfelt graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1997, was awarded his A.Sc. in Physical Sciences at Central Wyoming College in 1999, and completed his B.Sc. in Physics at University of Wyoming in 2003. He then relocated to the dirty South, and earned his M.Sc. in Physics at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005. His PhD saw him journeying to the romping Connecticut hills, under the tutelage of Tsampikos Kottos. His dissertation in 2009 was entitled "Probing Complex Dynamics via Loschmidt Echos". His postgraduate years were spent in German bliss - a summer at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Self-Organization in Goettingen, followed by nearly three years (from 2009-2011) at the Max Planck Institute for Complex Systems in Dresden. Here he worked closely with Sergej Flach, Haris Skokos, and Arseni Goussev.. He returned to America, working on a combined contract with USAF and Ohio State University's ElectroScience Laboratory for one year before leaving to the other side of the world - accepting a Research Officer position at Massey University's prestigious New Zealand Institute for Advanced Studies. He currently manages here a high performance computing cluster and continues his research, enjoying a weekend on the black sand beaches now and again.
