The Laboratory is also an integral component of the clinical research activities of IOSI, actively participating in translational studies and multi-center clinical trials and providing expertise, facilities and technical support for pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics and molecular follow-up studies.

The Laboratory currently employs about 30 researchers and is directed by Carlo Catapano MD, PhD. The Laboratory serves also as a training facility for undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral and clinical fellows. The expertise available within the Laboratory range from cell biology, molecular biology, molecular pharmacology, to genomics and bioinformatics.
