Associate Librarian/Head of Reference, Research and Instruction 08/2015 to Present

Xavier University Library Resource Center, Xavier University of Louisiana  New Orleans, LA

Directs the services of the Reference Department; Plans and implements additional services as necessary and appropriate; Services include traditional and electronic reference, electronic information access, and library instruction.

• Assesses the effectiveness of reference services through: the development and implementation of assessment tools; and the analysis of usage statistics
• Ensures quality management by reviewing transcripts from Virtual Reference transactions.
• Provides leadership in the development and enforcement of standards for reference service through on-going collaboration and communication with other Library departments and through in-house training and professional development activities
• Participates in delivery of reference service through active participation in reference desk service, providing an expert level of reference service on complex research assignments and reference questions
• Creates schedules for Overnight and Reference shifts for the library’s 24 hour operations during finals.
