I study the historical relationships between working people and war, especially how these relationships apply to what is now the United States.

I am currently innovating new ways of presenting historical narratives by employing unorthodox and largely unexplored digital approaches to both my research and teaching.

My goal is to craft a compelling blend of objective and, dare I say, aesthetic mediums that will lend new and powerful tools to the ancient craft of storytelling.

Specialties: US (and Colonial) Military/Diplomatic and Labor History.

Digital History: Web based two and three dimensional presentation of historical and geographical data and complex narratives using video game platforms and other digital venues.
