exploration of the influence of the gaze, a concept with philosophical, psychological and sociological roots can be helpful in unpacking the power relationships created and maintained through photography. From the gaze of the photographer while composing a shot to that of the subjects and even that of the gallery viewer upon the printed image, we seek to address the confluence of gazes that are cemented with every actuation of the shutter.
