At least since the publication of Nathan Hatch's influential book The Democratization of American Christianity in 1989, historians of religion have shown increased attentiveness to the role reading, writing, and publishing plays in the development of religious belief, practice and identity. This group is for anyone interested in exploring aspects of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, from an interdisciplinary perspective informed by the theories and methods of book and print culture studies.
