The Lakeland Community Heritage Project (Lakeland CHP) is dedicated to preserving, recording and sharing the rich past of the Lakeland community, a century old African American community of College Park, Maryland. We have recently completed a book, “Lakeland: African-Americans in College Park” with Arcadia Publishing. If you are interested in hosting a signing, a lecture, or purchasing a copy please contact us. This group is a place for the group to share references with scholars and partners working in Lakeland or with our collections.
