Within the university research group, "Infrastructures, Technologies, Applications and Telecommunication Services (group enrolled in the research group "Intersemiotic, Translation and New Technologies") major projects are being developed in collaboration with GIS sector actors, especially in the field of standard and interoperable systems. With the aim of contributing to the advancement of technology in the field of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), has formed a working meeting point and involving government agencies, regional businesses and researchers in various related areas.

IDELab was created for the promotion and development of the use of the Spatial Data Infraestructures (SDI) by developing pilot projects and demonstrating experimental technologies.
