Empathy as a moral emotion
This collection conatains books and papers that are related to the analysis of empathy as a moral emotion. The two main domains of this colection are philosophy and psychology but another library can be created focusing on cognition and neuroscience analysis of empathy.
The books in this library are divided into two sections: one tries to analyse empathy and to divide it to different definitions, and the other reffers to its moral part. In philosophy there is an ongoing debate whether empathy is the basis of moral behavior or whether moral is a derivate of reason alone. Two great philosophers can be mentioned in this context: Immanuel Kant that sees moral as derived out of reason alone and David Hume that empasised the role of sympathy (also empathy) in moral behavior. I hope this library can contribute to the analisys of empathy in general and to empathy as a moral emotion in particular.
