I'm gathering samples of scholars' and citizens' reasoning and analysis about matters of poliitical economy in hopes of developping methods for investigation of how those forms knowledge arise in human thought. Do they develop or are they simply learned? Since developmental epistemology has used psychogenesis and the history of science to investigate the development of scientific knowledge—mathematics, geometry, time, physical concepts and explanations as well as deductive reasoning—it seems possible and promising to apply some such methods to this field of political economy which is so rife with opposing views and ideologic agendas. How then would we engage scholars in such cross disciplinary research?
