A group for scholars interested in sharing books, articles, and other resources pertaining to connections between China and those regions that now make up the Islamic world, including its non-Muslim religious communities, from late antiquity to the present.

This includes:

  • Islam and other "foreign" religions in China
  • diasporas and circular societies in China with a significant connection to the Islamic world (e.g. Manichaeans, Muslim Chinese)
  • Chinese writing on foreign populations and religions
  • geographical and other descriptions of China produced in the Islamic world
  • exchanges of visual culture between China and the Islamic world
  • interaction between Chinese and Muslims in southeast Asia and Central Asia
