Recent Group Discussion
We start at the textual roots of Buddhism: the Tipitaka, or the Pali canon, which is the collection of primary Pali language texts forming the doctrinal foundation of Theravada Buddhism. [Pali is the language which precedes Sanskit.]
We move historically towards Mahayana Buddhism, and also explore contemporary practices, for example: Zen outside of Japan, findings regarding meditation from neuroscience.
We will be most interested in the history of Buddhism (theory, languages, practices), including the philosophical and psychological aspects of this religion. Contributions to the library should be scholarly, essential, and insightful.
