I'm a researcher at the French Institute of Pondicherry, where I coordinate a programme Medicine Environment Societies Health (MESH).

I am PI on a medical humanities programme funded by the Wellcome Trust, with research partners in Hyderabad and Aurangabad, and participate in a research network of Wellcome funded centres in Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. The program I run is called 'Margins/Thresholds: Health practices, resources and governance in the margins of the state, India ca. 1850 to the present day".

Current projects include:

Technologies of the flesh and bone: a historical anthropology of orthopedics, injury and pain in India

Medicine and healing in Tamil-Muslim worlds
