After eight years in Higher Education, I've worked as a freelance researcher and evaluator for the past five years, whilst also studying towards a PhD (p/t) and spending time with my young daughter.

My professional / HE background is in the fields of work with young people (youth work and social work), integrated and multi-agency working, and in areas of public health and wellbeing (linked to young people and communities).

My Doctoral study examines youth practitioners' constructions of risk in relation to children, young people and their own practice.

Other recent research activity has included work around shisha and electronic cigarettes, and evaluating a young carers service.
