Erik Buelinckx

Erik Buelinckx, born 1959, is a Belgian anarchist and art historian. He is mainly interested in the relationship between art and anarchy, in Belgium and elsewhere, from the mid-19th century to the Second World War and the immediate period after. He lives in Brussels and from time to time tries to get out from behind his books to take part in an anarchist action. Although almost retired, he's for still working as a scientific researcher at KIK-IRPA. He holds Master degrees in Information and Library Science, Documentation and Library Science, and Art History and Archaeology. He has an experience spanning almost twenty years on the different levels which constitute the creation, maintenance and conservation of digital (meta)data about cultural heritage. He works in the Department of Documentation where he is responsible for documentary image databases and digitization projects. He has experience in European projects and organizes and participates in several interregional and international collaborations on multilingual thesauri in the field of cultural heritage.
