Ely Sakhai was born in 1959 in San Francisco, California. At the age of 14, Sakhai began to gain a serious interest in acting, taking classes and refining his skills as an actor. His desire to work in the performing arts persisted for years to come, and due to that Ely Sakhai studied acting at San Francisco State University and later on obtained a master's degree from California State University. He began his acting career working as a stage actor. In 1995, Ely Sakhai found work as a recurring character on the popular series Visionaries. From there, he starred on several television series before landing bigger roles in various film projects.
