My research and teaching focus on 18th and 19th century British literature and culture, especially Romanticism; the history and theory of reading; and history of the book. I just published a study of literary celebrity and 19th-century British poetry; I'm currently working on theories and accounts of reading in the Romantic era and today, exploring Romantic-era brain science, and getting ready to teach courses this fall on Keats and contemporary poetry and on Romantic Lives. All of which has me adding to my Zotero library, and creating quite a daunting reading list.
