Dr. Byron Brown began studying for his Bachelor of Science at Winthrop University in 1990, completing his studies in 1993 and graduating Cum Laude with a minor in Art. He attended university as a Winthrop Scholar, which is a four-year academic scholarship, enjoying a distinguished academic career in the process. He received Winthrop University Departmental Awards in Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Ecology and Immunology between 1992 and 1993. He also made the Dean’s List during each year that he was at the college.
