I am an historian of international migration, gender, and food. I am currently writing a book with sociologist Katharine Donato on the feminization of migration. My next book, Nations of Immigrants, will ask why the United States is the only country in the world that celebrates itself in this fashion. As a teacher I help graduate and undergraduate students to develop the digital skills they need to research and communicate effectively with a special focus on documenting and archives.
