Dan Frost has a French doctorate in English for Specific Purposes and Teaching Theory. After reading Languages and Linguistics at York University, he taught English in Thailand and Sweden before settling in France, where he obtained a Masters in English Phonetics at the University of Provence. He worked as a secondary school teacher for two years in Le Havre, then as a professeur agrégé for ten years in the Computer Science Department at the IUT2 in Grenoble and he is currently a maître de conferences (associate professor) in the department of Applied foreign languages at the University of Chambéry, France. He also works with trainee teachers, especially in the area of teaching pronunciation. His main research interests are teaching pronunciation, oral English and computer-mediated learning and motivation. Apart from work and family, his main interests revolve around trying to have fun in the mountains without getting killed.
