i'm an ethnomusicologist with research interests in post-soviet popular music, music and migration (especially post-soviet migration to germany), norwegian traditional vocal music and bluegrass. i have done extended fieldwork on the norwegian west-coast as well as in st. petersburg and berlin.

my phd which i defended in september 2009 is on post-soviet popular music in st. petersburg and transcultural flows to germany focusing especially on the russendisko and related events.
