Employment History

Graduate Research Assistant, OSU Giovannoni Laboratory, (2005 – Present)

  • Conducted biological experiments and regularly gave formal presentations.
  • Selected, built, and configured custom computer equipment for the laboratory.
  • Aided colleagues with their data processing needs.

Bioinformatics Research Assistant, OSU Carrington Laboratory, (2004 – 2005)

  • Managed the Arabidopsis Small RNA Project, a web interface that serves as a reference to 200,000+ features on the Arabidopsis thaliana genome and (successful) predictor of non-annotated microRNA/gene interactions.
  • Created Perl modules to interact with third-party UNIX programs.
  • Wrote and executed scripts in a parallel computing environment.

Laboratory Assistant, OSU Carrington Laboratory, (2001 – 2004)

  • Configured the laboratory’s web server from the ground up.
  • Created a web-based program for cataloging oligo, seed, and chemical stocks.
  • Designed and constructed Carrington Laboratory’s public and in-house websites.
