I began my career in journalism 35 year ago. A mid-life career change has resulted in my becoming a chaplain, and a psychotherapist. I have worked in prison, hospital, and community agency contexts, as well as independently.

My deep concerns have to do with the existential issues, and how we human beings manage to cope with them, as well as the day to day complexities of life. One of my passions in doing therapy with folk is the treatment and healing from all kinds of traumas - including childhood sexual abuse, physical traumas, war and civil strife experience, and torture.

For some reason, in my work, I've often had the really tough clients who may not have done all that well before in therapy, or for whom other therapists have felt they could do little. My experience is there is hope and healing for many such clients, and I work hard to help them get a sense of my hope and vision, enough for them to hang on to, as they create and evolve their own vision.
